Faux. f-a-u-x. Meaning a hoax, scam, or other false activity.   Faux may be phony, but it's not all bad.  Sure,  faux diamonds, faux sincerity inspire us to turn up our noses, but oh the delights of the faux film.  From Monty Python... to Spinal Tap... to the Daily Show... satire's long and rich tradition has been entertaining audiences in a way no other form of comedy can.  This weekend in Portland, audiences get a peek at the next generation of satirists at the 4th annual Faux FIlm Festival.   Mike Skolnik is the festival's organizer. He says he picks only the funniest shorts and features for the program.
