Friday the candidates who want to replace Darlene Hooley in Congress appeared before the Salem City Club. 

The two major party candidates are Republican Mike Erickson and Democrat Kurt Schrader.  And the biggest question recently was whether Erickson would show up for the debate. 

Our Salem correspondent Chris Lehman was there, and joins us now.
