The money is part of a tribal block grant program administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Tribal governments can use that money for a variety of activities -- such as affordable housing projects, infrastructure improvements and safety programs.
The largest grant will go to the Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority. They're set to receive about $3.25 million.
The Klamath Indian tribe will receive the second largest amount -- a little under $2.5 million. The Warm Springs Housing Authority is receiving $1.5 million.
