Another Republican is poised to enter the race for Oregon governor.  Former NBA player Chris Dudley plans an announcement in Portland Wednesday.

But Dudley's already been introducing himself to voters online. Chris Lehman reports.

Dudley would join fellow Republicans Allen Alley, John Lim, and Bill Sizemore in seeking the GOP nomination for Governor.

Dudley Do-Run?

Ex-NBA player Chris Dudley plans a "major announcement regarding his potential candidacy for Governor."

Until now Dudley has said little publicly about running, but he's raised more than $340,000 in campaign cash.  And he recently recorded three YouTube videos like this one.

Chris Dudley:  "My life experiences are not the typical background for a politician."

The online rollout comes as no surprise to Debra Ringold. The dean of the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University specializes in marketing. But she says she learned when she ran for the Oregon House that you have to use a wide range of media to communicate to voters.

Debra Ringold:  "Different segments want different kinds of information.  And so my advice to this particular candidate would be three videos won't be enough."

Other candidates for governor include Democrats John Kitzhaber and Bill Bradbury. They've produced online videos, too.
