Closing Arguments Expected In Faith-Healing Case

Closing arguments are expected Tuesday in the trial of Raylene and Brent Worthington.

They're on trial in connection with the death of their daughter, Ava. As Rob Manning reports, the prosecution and the defense have painted very different scenarios of events leading up to the toddler's death.

The jury is basically going to decide between two versions of how Ava Worthington died, whether it was the result of months of malnutrition and poor treatment and lack of medical attention or if it was the result of a culmination of factors that happened very quickly at the end of what appeared to be a normal sickness.

And that's going to be up to the jury to decide.

The Worthingtons face charges of manslaugher and criminal mistreatment in their daughter's death. The couple used faith healing practices to treat the girl when she became ill.
