Demand for charity services is up, but donations are down, according to a study released by The Oregon Community Foundation. Kristian Foden-Vencil reports.

The foundation talked to about 130 non-profits and found that demand for services has increased by 12 percent since July last year.

But half of them collected less money over the same time.

Katie Shriver, with the Oregon Community Foundation, says the upshot is that about three quarters of  non-profits have had to lay-off staff or take other cost cutting measures.

The survey found that Oregonians are still donating money, they're just giving less than they did last year.
