Burgeoning Wolf Population Concerns Oregon Ranchers
In the west, the wolf population is coming back.

The gray wolf was removed from the federal list of threatened and endagered species earlier this year. All states say the populations of gray wolves are either holding steady or climbing.
It's a victory for environmentalists and wolf advocates, but ranchers across the West say it's bad for business.
Just this month, state and federal wildlife officials confirm that a cow calf was killed by a wolf in Wallowa county. This weekend in La Grande, ranchers and wildlife workers will gather for a symposium on how to deal with the burgeoning wolf population. The Oregon Cattlemen's Association is one of the presenting organizations, and Bill Hoyt is the OCA president. He's with with me now.
