SOUTH BEND — In Pacific County Superior Court Thursday, Brian Brush was sentenced to 1,060 months in prison for murdering Lisa Bonney of Long Beach.

            Barring a successful appeal, this 88-year-plus sentence means the 49-year-old former policeman will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

            The sentence was handed down by Superior Court Judge Michael Sullivan after about two hours of emotional victim-impact testimony by Bonney’s two daughters and other family members. Sullivan denied a defense motion for a new trial in the case that has stretched out since Bonney’s shooting death on a busy street on Sept. 11, 2009.
