Blazers' Guard Roy Recovering From Knee Surgery

Portland Trail Blazers star Brandon Roy is on the mend after surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee last week.  Roy is already rehabilitating the knee at the Blazers practice facility.

The All-Star guard is entering his third NBA season, but he joked that he is a "veteran at meniscus surgeries."  He had the same procedure on his other knee in college.

Roy said he is anxious to get back on the court with another rehabbing Blazer, center Greg Oden.

Brandon Roy: "Right now we're keeping our fingers crossed that everybody stays healthy.  Like I said my surgery went great, we'll be back on the floor soon.  I think Greg will start playing next week a little more pick-up full court, and hopefully I'll be back out there sooner than expected."

Roy said he's been watching the Olympic games when he can to catch a glimpse of Spanish guard Rudy Fernandez.

Fernandez will be in a Blazer uniform this season, and Roy said he's impressed with the Spaniard's performance.
