As the silence from Portland City Hall continues, some members of the community are rallying around Mayor Sam Adams. April Baer reports.

Late in the day Monday Adams admitted he had a sexual  relationship with an eighteen-year-old, back in the summer of 2005.

Adams has faced condemnation from many quarters, including an editorial in the city's  gay newspaper, demanding his resignation.

The head of the Portland Police Association says he ccan no longer work with Adams.

But a number of Portlanders say they while they're not happy with Adams' behavior, they don't believe he should resign.

Musician Thomas Lauderdale has said he's talking with community leaders and others about a public show of support.

A Facebook page has been created, called "A Vote of Confidence for Sam Adams."  As of early Thursday morning, more than 400 members joined.

There is still no word from City Hall about what Adams will do. He did not report to work on Wednesday.
