Federal Way-based charity World Vision says it's temporarily halting operations in Pakistan after six of its aid workers were killed Wednesday.

All six were Pakistani employees of the Christian humanitarian group working with Afghanis living in Pakistan.

John Yeager is with World Vision in Federal Way.

John Yeager: “We're stunned. We usually on avg we lose 1 person every year. This is 6, at one place at one time. People here are still reeling. The workers were doing what was needed, and innocent people.”

World Vision says gunmen may have set off bombs and grenades before attacking its Pakistan office.

The attackers robbed employees of money, computers and jewelry.

Seven other World Vision employees were hospitalized following the attack and one is missing.

Yeager says the charity will likely return to the country in the future.
