The leader of the Idaho group Aryan Nations says he is still interested in moving to John Day, even though the town is in an uproar over his recent visit. Amelia Templeton reports. Idaho Aryan Nations leader Paul Mullet has not been able to buy property in John Day.  A school house he was interested in is not for sale and a real estate agency declined his e-mail offer on another building. Mullet told the local paper he wants to establish a headquarters in John Day. That touched a nerve, says the town’s mayor, Bob Quinton. Quinton: “He said he felt they had the same values as Grant County. That’s left a few of us scratching our heads trying to figure out where those values match up. “Quinton says all kinds of people protested Paul Mullet’s plans. Two Grant county residents who were with Mullet during his visit to John Day have resigned from Aryan Nations. One wrote that he received threats from community members. Mullet declined to be recorded. But he told OPB he still plans to move to John Day. He said no local real estate agents will work with him, so he plans to have an outsider pursue a deal. Maybe someone could offer him the sewage treatment plant or the local landfill. I think either would coincide with their philosphy. Stand tall citizens of John Day!! The citizens of Auschwitz, Germany cashed in on their new neighbors and nothing good ever came of it.

I look forward to hunting these non-native species in my local region. Absolutely welcome them with open arms.

All of a sudden Oregon starts singing "We Are The World"? And to CaptainK, what does Auschwitz have to do with it? That's in Germany! You can not stop ANYONE from moving where they want. The Constitution is for everyone! Who cares where they move?
