The neck-in-neck Seattle mayor's race could narrow more as another batch of ballots is counted Thursday.

Environmental attorney Mike McGinn went to bed on election night with a lead of 910 votes.  That margin over T-Mobile executive Joe Mallahan has now slipped to 462.

Washington Governor Chris Gregoire said the narrow margin and long wait reminds her of what she went through after the disputed 2004 election.

Chris Gregoire: "I've been there. I've done this. This is so hard.  From experience, I have to tell you, I wouldn't have anybody go through what both of those candidates are going through.  When it's all done and we have a mayor, I'm committed to work with whomever."

Gregoire endorsed Joe Mallahan in the Seattle mayor's race.  The election of Mike McGinn could cause consternation in the state capital.

During the campaign, McGinn advocated re-examining the carefully crafted agreement to bore a highway tunnel under downtown Seattle.
