Three lawyers have been chosen as finalists for the job of U.S. Attorney for Oregon. As April Baer reports, the short list now goes to the White House.

It's unlikely that Congress will have a chance to vote on a nominee before the end of the year, but Congress will confirm one of three people: the Acting U.S. Attorney for Oregon, Kent Robinson; Amanda Marshall,  who manages the child advocacy section of Oregon's state Department of Justice; and Clatsop County's DA Josh Marquis.

Josh Kardon, chief-of-staff to Senator Ron Wyden, was a non-voting member of the committee that made the selection.

Josh Kardon "The finalists are being forwarded to the White House, the Senator will interview the three finalists, and give his final recommendations to the President. And then the President will make a decision."

Meeting last weekend, the selection committee also picked finalists for Oregon's open U.S. Marshal position.

They include Lane County's Sheriff, officers with the Portland Police and State police, and the former Gresham Police Chief.
