But in the future, the climate may change what grapes they work with to create that product.
Global climate change is affecting many agricultural sectors, and winemaking is no different.
If growing season temperatures increase by 2 to 4 degrees in the Northwest over the next 40 years – as is predicted – it could dramatically rearrange the wine industry.
Greg Jones studies this kind of thing. He’s an associate professor at Southern Oregon University and an expert on the link between climate change and viticulture.
