Clackamas County Investigating Death Of Baby
Portland, OR September 29, 2009 6:23 p.m.
The Clackamas County sheriff’s office and district attorney are investigating the death of a baby who died Sunday morning in Oregon City, within hours of being born, Saturday afternoon.
The Oregonian newspaper is reporting that the family involved belongs to the faith-healing church, Followers of Christ.
An autopsy was performed Sunday, but no details have been released.
The sheriff's office and district attorney confirmed the investigation, but declined broadcast interviews.
The Followers of Christ were at the center of the trial of Brent and Raylene Worthington, over the death of their 15-month old daughter Ava.
Brent Worthington was recently released from jail after serving most of a 60-day sentence. His wife was found 'not guilty.'
Another trial is scheduled to start in January involving a different Followers of Christ family, and the death of a teen-age boy.
