With mid-term elections about a year away, some of Oregon's representatives are already stashing cash for the campaign season. April Baer reports.
Many of Oregon's representatives are preparing for whatever election challenge may be ahead.
Democratic Congressman Kurt Schrader has about $360,000 on hand. His colleagues David Wu and Earl Blumenauer each had over $300,000 as of a mid-July filing.
Two other reps have done much better.
Republican Congressman Greg Walden's summer quarter filing showed a balance of close to $500,000.
At the same time, Democrat Peter Defazio showed a balance of over $537,000 on hand.
Both are up for re-election next year, but both have also been mentioned as possible candidates in next year's governor's race. Neither has indicated whether he'll run.
