First District Congressman David Wu will face a primary challenger next year. Democrat David Robinson has announced he'll run against Wu.

This would be his first foray as a candidate.

Robinson manages fleet vehicles and facilities for Hillsboro's city government, and lives in Aloha. He's a Naval reserve officer, and says he wants to offer a higher level of leadership and performance.

David Robinson: "I see the same things many other Oregonians see. They don't feel they're being served well. They don't feel that their concerns are being addressed."

Robinson says he wasn't satisfied with Wu's performance at town hall meetings on health care.

Also, he says more should have been done to help businesses and cities in the First District take advantage of stimulus money.

Wu did not comment on Robinson's entry into the race.

There are no fewer than four Republicans who want to run in the First District, including Rob Cornilles, Doug Keller, Stephen Andrew Brodhead, and John Kuzmanich.
