John Lim Announces Gubernatorial Bid
Salem, OR September 4, 2009 4:54 p.m.
There's another Republican in the race to become Oregon's next governor.
Former state lawmaker John Lim says he'll seek the GOP nomination in next May's primary. Lim also ran for governor in 1990, and later served in both the Oregon House and Senate.
Lim says he'll use his legislative experience to craft business-friendly policies in the governor's office.
John Lim: “We have more small business compared to other states and we need to support the small business because they are the backbone of the economy.”
Lim joins businessman Allen Alley and state Senator Jason Atkinson in the bid for the Republican nomination.
On the Democratic side, the field is still taking shape. But former governor John Kitzhaber announced this week he's seeking his old office.
