Energy Secretary Steven Chu To Visit Hanford Site And National Labs
Richland, WA August 10, 2009 6 a.m.
U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu will visit the Hanford Nuclear Reservation Monday and Tuesday.
He was invited to visit the massive clean-up site by Washington Senator Patty Murray. She's a senior member of the Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee.
Chu is scheduled to visit the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Monday to view research on things like carbon sequestration, the smart energy grid and nuclear nonproliferation.
Tuesday, he'll tour Hanford clean-up sites with DOE officials.
