Sixty-Five Medford Students Quarantined In China
Portland, OR July 20, 2009 11:40 a.m.
Sixty-five students, who are in quarantine for swine flu in China, are hoping to be allowed to continue their tour Tuesday.
The kids and seven chaperones from St. Mary's in Medford, have been held in a hotel since July 17th.
Principal Frank Phillips says another school group from England is also being held at the same hotel.
He says they're all bored, but they're being treated well.
Frank Phillips: "They've delivered laptops to all of the 100 or so kids staying at the hotel. Last night they delivered McDonalds for dinner. Fresh fruit and they've been great, and they've been trying to entertain the kids as best they can."
When landing in China, the students were asked to fill out a health questionnaire and they had their temperatures taken.
Three students reported feeling under the weather and the screening process found one student who tested positive for swine flu.
