Goudarz Eghtadari is a naturalized American citizen who hosts a Middle-Eastern affairs show on Portland's KBOO radio. He says he spent most of the weekend watching TV and internet news.
Eghtadari says reformist challenger Mir-Hossein Mousavi did something months ago that made it possible for the world to get around Iranian censors.
Goudarz Eghtadari: "At the beginning of the campaign, he asked his supporters to ask as freelance media, and indeed most of the students in Iran have done that."
Eghtadari says those students' Facebook accounts and YouTube links have been critical to getting information out to the rest of the world.
He says he hopes the protests show that people are working for change in Iran, and that the United States need not consider force against the existing regime.
