The popularity of raising backyard chickens in cities like Portland has grown in the last year.
Not all Oregon cities are as keen as Portland is on the idea of backyard chickens.
They’re banned in most city lots in La Grande, Tigard, Tualatin, Salem and even Cannon Beach.
OPB’s Pete Springer recently chatted with some urban chicken farmers in Portland to find out what’s driving so many people to raise the birds in their backyards.
