This week, central Oregon conservationists are getting ready to take the next step in one of the region’s key restoration projects.
On Tuesday, the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council and the Deschutes Land Trust will start to dig a new riverbed for Whychus Creek, north of Sisters.
Well, really, they’ll be re-digging more than a mile of an old creek bed.
Ethan Lindsey filed this audio postcard of a group that toured the now-dry meadow one last time, before the project kicks off.
