University Of Oregon Grad Schools Rank High

The University of Oregon earned high marks in the latest ranking of graduate schools by “U.S. News and World Report."  KLCC’s Angela Kellner has more.

The U of O’s College of Education ranks number one among public institutions and fourth overall in the nation. Their special education program ranked third, for the fourth year in a row.

The Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, Rick Linton, says the College of Education also ranked sixth in total research funding.

Rick Linton: “Per faculty member their bringing in about a million dollars a year in externally sponsored research funding. Very highly competitive world these days in getting that type of support.”

The U of O School of Law received top ten honors for three of its programs - legal writing, conflict resolution and environmental law.

The rankings in the U.S. News and World Report are based on such things as which students are admitted, research activity and faculty resources.
