Two PDX Baggage Handlers Arrested For Theft
Portland, OR February 20, 2009 3:36 p.m.
Two baggage handlers at Portland International have been arrested on charges of theft.
Airport spokesman, Steve Johnson, says police received tips two weeks ago that laptops, jewelry and other valuables were being stolen. They started an investigation that found about 200 things.
Steve Johnson: “If travelers think that they may have had some items stolen we are asking them to contact the Port of Portland police and identify the items and we’ll be happy to assist in returning those to the travelers.”
Baggage handlers, Bridgette Denise Bunnell of Molalla, and Jose Trejo Romero of Vancouver, are employed by Northwest Airlines. They are said to be fully cooperating with the investigation.
