Sizemore Jailed On Contempt Charge

Anti-tax activist, Bill Sizemore is in Multnomah County jail Monday. After finding that Sizemore was in contempt of court for the fourth time, Circuit Judge Janice Wilson ordered Sizemore held until he signs tax paperwork related to his fraudulent non-profit work.

In sending Sizemore to jail, Judge Wilson faulted Sizemore for putting himself into custody.

Judge Janice Wilson: “Mr. Sizemore is so blinded by his hatred of his unions -- who are plaintiffs in this case -- that he seems to have concluded that he is not required to follow the law.”

Wilson says she’ll release Sizemore when he signs the tax documents, expected later Monday or Tuesday.

The jailing is the latest legal setback for Sizemore, related to the ways he has advanced his ballot initiatives.

Judge Wilson found that Sizemore had violated a court injunction put in place five years ago.

That one barred him from using tax-exempt charities for personal and political gain.

In her order, Judge Wilson extended that injunction for another five years.
