Rain is expected to continue for much of the day Wednesday in the Northwest. As Rob Manning reports, both Oregon and Washington are watching  for flooding.

Meteorologists are predicting that the current storm could bring more than four inches of rain by the end of the day.

Flood watches cover much of the Lower Columbia, Coast Range, and the Oregon and Washington coasts. At least 16 cities from Willapa Bay to Tillamook, and inland to St. Helens, are of particular concern for flooding.

But emergency management officials in Oregon say they’re mostly watching two rivers in Tillamook County: the Wilson and Trask, though they don't expect flooding there at this point.

The situation looks worse in western Washington.

The Skagit River is expected to go six feet over flood stage, near Mount Vernon. A handful of other rivers are also expected to flood, but not as badly.
