Work is beginning to get back to normal for about 1300 workers at Boeing’s plant in Gresham. As Kristian Foden-Vencil reports, 74 percent of union members voted Saturday to accept the latest contract.

While the fight is over, it takes time to restart production at a company the size of Boeing.

Some workers began their shifts Sunday night, but it’ll be a while before each model of airplane gets back up to full production.

Company spokesman, Tim Healy, says workers have until next Monday to come back to work and that Boeing can’t speed things up:

Tim Healy: “We were at full production before the strike began and so there is no scope for us to increase production, to make up for the lost deliveries.”

Planes that weren’t built because of the strike, will be the first to be delivered.  

Now Boeing engineers are in the final phase of negotiations for their contract. It expires December 1st.
