The Oregon museum that brought you the Spruce Goose opens a new wing Friday, housing a part of the Willamette meteorite, replicas of the Lunar Module and an 'Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile' -- the kind that threatened to destroy the world back in the 1980’s.
The new wing is dedicated to space and has exhibits dedicated to the Redstone Rocket, the Gemini capsule and many other pioneering space programs.
I spoke to Peter Jaeger director of operations for the museum from a mock-up of the missile launch center and asked him why open a space museum in McMinnville?
