Romney To Appear At Oregon GOP Convention

One of the biggest stars in the Republican party is coming to Oregon this weekend. April Baer reports that Mitt Romney has agreed to appear at the state GOP convention.

The former Massachusetts Governor created a lot of buzz with his run for the Republican Presidential nomination.

Since the race was settled before May 20th, he was not on the ballot for the Oregon primary. But Romney did some fundraising in the state.

While he lost to Senator John McCain, his name has cropped up recently on short lists for a Vice Presidential pick.

He'll speak Friday night at the state party's convention banquet in Salem.

Oregon Republican party spokeswoman Brianne Hyder says the party is selling tickets for the event.

So far, Romney has not made any fundraising appearances in Oregon on behalf of the presumptive nominee.
