Seattle Lawyer Will Help Decide Fate Of Florida And Michigan Delegates

This weekend members of the Democratic National Committee’s rules committee will meet in Washington, D.C. They will decide the fate of delegates from Michigan and Florida.
Seattle attorney David McDonald is one of the thirty members of that committee. He expects some delegates from both states will be seated at the national convention this August. He thinks it’s only fair to voters.
David McDonald: “If you’re just a voter sitting in one of those states you didn’t ever get a chance and so I think because of that people are willing, I’m certainly willing to spend a fair amount of time to find some way to give them some input into this process.”
But McDonald doesn’t want to completely forgive Florida and Michigan for moving their primaries up without permission. Forgiveness, he says, might just encourage other states to do the same in the next presidential election year.
Either way McDonald doesn’t think the Florida and Michigan delegates are enough to toss the nomination to Hillary Clinton.
