New Carissa May Finally Make It Off The Oregon Coast

In Coos Bay, fishing boats, locally owned shops and Victorian homes line the streets.
But just a few miles from downtown -- past rows of undulating sand dunes -- the remains of the shipwreck known as the New Carissa lie partially buried in sand.
This summer all the buzz will be on this side of Coos Bay.
After 8 long, tumultuous years the New Carissa and the Oregon coast are parting ways -- once and for all.
We sent Bilal Quershi for one last look at Oregon's most famous shipwreck.
