Obama, Clinton Both Campaign In Oregon

The two Democratic presidential candidates campaigned in Oregon Friday.

Hillary Clinton spoke to a group of employees and patients at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.  Barack Obama spoke to employees at a software firm in Beaverton this morning.

The visits come at a time when Clinton is facing increasing pressure to drop out of the race.  Obama barely mentioned his Democratic opponent.  Instead, he focused on Republican John McCain.

Barack Obama:  “Senator McCain is running for President to double down on George Bush’s failed economic policies.  I’m running to change them. And that’s what will be a fundamental difference in this election, when I am the Democratic nominee for President.”

Obama picked up another endorsement of a superdelegate from Oregon.

Peter Defazio becomes the third Oregon congressman to throw his support behind Obama.

Congresswoman Darlene Hooley came out earlier in favor of Clinton.

Obama will make stops later today (Friday) in Albany and Eugene.
