Rojo De Steffey Decides To Stay Out Of Council Race
Portland, OR January 3, 2008 11:28 a.m.
As the race for seats on the Portland City council opens up, Multnomah County Commissioner Maria Rojo de Steffey has announced she will not run.
Maria Rojo de Steffey: “I don’t want to do it. I decided to go back to plan A and plan A was to move out of elective politics.”
Rojo de Steffey had voiced interest in the race, but now says she’s had enough of public life.
She says she’s already been offered a couple of jobs for when her term with Multnomah County ends in December.
